I did the 4.5.3 Starter Kit Install, and the Visual Studio Content Installer seemed to work OK, and everything looks like the example in the PDF file, but when I open Visual Studio 2005 I'm not getting the 'Dot Net Nuke Web App' template showing up in "My Templates."

  1. No DotNetNuke Web Application Fra....   template
  2. I also set the Language to Visual Basic in the New Web Site dialog.
  3. if I go to New project I do get the DotNetNuke Complied Module template
  4. DotNetNuke.Zip is in C:\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Basic\Visual Web Developer\Visual Basic\

I'm having the same problem.  I found this error in the Event Viewer:

One or more Visual Studio templates is invalid and will not be displayed.

I'm guessing it's an error with the DotNetNuke.vstemplate file.  If I find the error, I'll post it.

I Discoverd a work around

Copy or move

My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Basic\Visual Web Developer\Visual Basic\ DonNetNuke.zip

to

My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Basic\Visual Web Developer\ DonNetNuke.zip

Discoverd this by trial and error, still don't know what went wrong in anything with the install.

Note my orginal post says c:\ and should say My Documents\
