I get the same thing...

I commented out all of those lines only to get another error in the <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005-->

Can antone help?

This looks like you are actually using .NET 1.1 on this site (and the DNN 4.x code  requires .NET 2.0), as the attribute is a "new" one in .NET 2, and thus is not recognised in .NET 1.1.

I'm getting the same error after install 4.0.2

I have asp.net and asp 2.0 running on the server with different app pools

not alone... me 2 Microsoft .Net 2.0 framework and capability to run 1.4 also. I've tried 3.2.1 and 4.0.2 and both seem to give me this error....
