Q. Even if you run that SQL script on 4.3.7 (or version previous to "4.0.0" (which I guess would originally have been a beta)

I think I figured it out.

The quoted SQL earlier in this thread that fixes the "problem" is not actually IN the 4.4.0 SqlDataprovider file at all.

The SQL makes a change to the GetSearchModules sproc, whereas the similar SQL that is in the 4.4.0.SqlDataprovider is actually SQL to creat the a new View.

So I think that the GetSearchModules is NOT being updated to reflect code/database changes.  Thus the code quoted works, so adding the code to the end of the provider should work.
