So we're trying to install restore  an application of DNN on our server (MS Server 2000). We've restored the db, assigned the same user as our other DNN application as db_owner, and have created the IIS, assigned appropriate permissions, etc etc. After modding the web.config file, we suspected we were ready for the install...and we were.

The installer popped up, and ran everything fine but now when we enter http://localhost/dotnetnuke all that we see is the words: core-project.

I have no idea what to do.

I've never seen this error before but maybe some where along the line some files were corrupted or missing. The only thing I can recommend is maybe trying an upgrade reinstall. If your install is version 4.5.3 then you need to remove this version number from the version table in your database first.

Sorry I couldn't be more help,

Mike

be careful - if the installer shows up, it might modify the encryption keys in your web.config. Please restore machinekey from previously used web.config.

I would also triple check that you modified both connection strings inside the web.config file to point to the correct location.

Edit: To correct myself.....

Mitchel,

are you referring to the two database connection strings in the web.config file?
