Hey Guys,

I'm upgrading DNN from 3.3.7 to the current 4.5.3.  However, when I get to the scripts part of a custom upgrade I get this error.  It's almost like it's stuck in an infinite loop.  Help Anyone?  Thanks.  Kim

Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...Upgrading Database to Version ERROR: See D:\DNN3\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\04.04.00.log for more information...FAILURE 400 - Conversion from string "ERROR: See D:DNN3ProvidersDataPr" to type 'Integer' is not valid.

I've had this problem as well on my localhost server. I worked around it by checking permissions, checking db connection then backing up the installer and choosing "auto" install mode. The installs seem to run without errors now.

Good luck,

Mike

Wow, Nice on Mike! I've seen this now about 7 times and was able to ignore it previoulsy as I hadn't done anything worth saving previously on those DBs.I time i stumbled through to the end - without recalling what it was that had worked.

It's wierd because I was running 3.5.3 just fine, shut down DB & IIS to ftp site up to the serrver, and then just starting it up again forced an "upgrade" though I'm quite sure nothing changed...

For reference I then got:

Current Database Version: 04.04.00

I also fixed this by making sure all the comments for the connection string area were in the right places.  They are out of sync and are setup for the SQL express to run.  I wasn't running SQL express so the script just kep looping.  ALWAYS CHECK COMMENTING.
