I'd like to ask the DotNetNuke core team to clean the site. you can or can NOT consider my request, but the webmaster should be involved in all projects (at least know what is going on) and don't let them put false information.

There are a lot of DNN projects (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/824/default.aspx) the statment from this page does not relate with the spirit of the project team members. Definitively it is very hard to be involved becase they don't let get in. However this is not the point of my post. The point is remove all information that make false expectations and frustation from potential and current dnn users.

For example, you have a UserOnLine, Chat, Gallery, etc. projects that looks like nothing happend with them... and nothing will happend in the short and mid term...but keep promoting them....why?

Other projects, like FORUM is promising a new version since March, that oka, but keep posting false information, and keep this false information even in the "Project Release Tracking" ( http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/ProjectReleaseTracking/tabid/997/Default.aspx ).

Understanding the spirit of the open community, you should hear what many users say. Even worse, what you ask an update, most of the time you get an violent answer...it is not my opinion, there are lot of this answer in the forum ...

User feeling ...For instance...

You can't. They just want people to believe they're working on it, so they over-promise and under-deliver, and then get defensive when asked about it. Not difficult to understand.

So, I think it is time to clean the house, keeping the honest information in the front, and the "best intentions" in the back....

This is my humble opinion (IMHO)

This is in no way Humble. May be Haughty, though.

All of these complainers forget one single point. It's an open source project which means, in part, that you get it for free.

I don't want to waste my time discussing it. If you don't get it yourself, nobody will help you.

You should be thankful for this product. Just the way it is. And if you don't like it, you don't have to use it. You can create your own, for example. And make it better than DNN.

You found a bug? Incorrect logic? State your solution or just enter it into the system. And, once again, say thank you. Because if these guys will close DNN tomorrow, no court will be able to hold them liable to you. You know why? It's freaking FREE. You DON'T have to use it.

This goes for every single complainer out there.

And this is my opinion. Perhaps, also a bit haughty. but I just can't stand the welfare attitude. If you are collecting food stamps, you can't complain about service.

Well said although I can understand when some people forget this.

"If you are collecting food stamps, you can't complain about service."

Try keeping on topic before you look more ignorant than you already do.

Brian,

I am not sure what you mean, or who.
