I've accidently (ignorantly) set my site settings login page to "home". Now I cannot login anymore.
How can I fix this, perhaps in my web.config?????

cpweber,

you should still be able to add a ?ctl=login to the end of the query string to bring up the login module (or if there is already a ? on the querystring use &ctl=login)

if that for some reason is not the case and you have access to the database it is still a relatively easy fix

just replace the portalid in the query below with the appropriate portalid and away you go

update portals set logintabid = null where portalid = 0

hope that helps,

Ian

Hi ian,

What query string are you referring to?

The database is on the providers site and is an Express database attached to a SQL one.
I have never accessed or looked for queries before so don't know where or how to change "portalid"?

I was hoping to make a change in the web.config as that is easy. If I have to play with the database
I don't know how. When the site was local I could use the tools with Express, but remote attached
I have no idea.

You will have to make a change to the database as ian suggested: update portals set logintabid = null where portalid = [portalid of your site]. If you don't have access to it, you will have to have your provider do so.

The query string i am referring to is the URL in your browser. You may still be able to log in to the site by navigating to the following:

http://www.yoursite.com/Default.aspx?ctl=login

let me know if that works and if not -- we'll have to look in to a way to access your database to run that query.

hope that helps,

Ian
