Hi Ian,

I've tried the url as follows and had no luck;

http://ccfcentre.org.au.113.webhostforasp.net/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx?ctl=login

which is what we redirected to; http://www.turningpoint.asn.au

I contacted the provider and so far they say I have to log into the database. I guessed at
downloading a backup locally, then trying to restore it to a local database. I get an
access error. Of course I'm just floundering along hoping I get it right, but no luck yet :)
This one selected option is turning into one hard lesson....

Ok, I have the same problem.  I can login to the database, but I have no idea where to go to put in this string. Can you help?

Hi LeAnne,

I ended raising a ticket with my provider for assistance and they set it for me.
So I still don't know how to make the setting but my current problem is resolved.

I think it would be a good idea for the DNN developers to have a warning about
this particular page option as it is very disabling.

Sorry I cannot offer any help for you. Are you able to contact your provider as I did?

Cheers, Colin & Pamela

I agree, this is terribly easy to do.  This is a new option from the other versions of DNN I've used and I just thought it would redirect to the login page specified, NOT totally disable the normal login feature.  But, now that I think about it, that doesn't make sense.  Anyway, a warning would be great.

I had not gotten too far into setting up this particular portal, so I just scrapped it and started over.  I would surely be up a creek otherwise.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, but there is a method for getting around this inadvertant lockout here:

http://blogs.snapsis.com/PermaLink,guid,3078311e-6925-4c03-8243-d1b9c8a11906.aspx

Maybe it'll help for the next user it happens to, and there will be a next user that it happens to.

The problem with using the ctl=login on the querystring is that is intetionally blocked if you have specified another login page, the reason being is that if you specify another page, then it may be a security risk for someone to short circuit that and use the old login.
