I've got a DNN site running 3.2.2 (I've not yet looked into how painless/full the upgrade path to 4 will be) and need help finding a module before I head down the path of writing it myself.  The need that I'm trying to fulfill is pretty simple and is to have a "staff bio" page for the non-profit school that is using this site.  Basically I want to have the ability to enter info about a staff member to include name, department(s), a biography (could be several paragraphs), and a photograph.  The site visitor's view of the module would be a list of staff members with a picture and their bio grouped by department.  The person managing the data needs to have control over the ordering of departments and individuals within the department.

We're currently using DNNR.UDT for this portion of the site, but the administrator of the site is having trouble with text entry of the bio (having to create HTML outside the tool and paste into the small textbox) and controlling the order in whiich staff members appear, so the want something less general purpose in nature.  I have access to the documentation necessary to write a module myself, but if there is a free or reasonably priced commercial alternative, I would much rather have them use that.

Does anyone know of a module that will meet their needs?

Here is a free module that may be what you are looking for:

There is also a pay to use module that may also fit your needs:

have a look at Property Agent  from www.ventrian.com it is sold by subscription ( which also includes all of the ventrian products) you also get source and the modules run on dnn3 and 4.

a 3 month subscription is worth $24 and you get the latest updates etc during your subscription period. Got to be one of the best prices around as it includes about 11 modules

property agent is badly named = basically a property is any thing - ie real estate, recipes, cars, products or even staff bio's

I am using it on client sites to do classified adds, member bio's, recipes and a lot other things. Excellent module. On one site I am using it for differential diagnosis of sheep diseases.

The other modules included in the subscription are just as good and very high quality ( and with source)

I'm looking at having to do something similar at the college I work at and have been considering using the Repository module for it. I know the current one won't work with 3.2.2 (I think 3.5 is the minimum) but the previous versions should.

Check out Standard UserDefinedTable, that also allows to create lists, usage of HTML Editor etc.
