JetJam has hit it right on the head! I also dagged the siteurls over from the Config to the root. Then I just directed my webbrowser to my site and it automatically started the upgrade and when completed told me I had successfully upgraded my website to 4.3.1.

I am still having errors with some of the modules like announcments and events. I am not sure the reason for these errors.

I got the Announcements module to work just fine. I have downloaded and installed version 3.3.1 June 20. Now there is a different story with the Events module. A new download June 20 has been posted for download (ver 3.2) but it will not install and I end up with hundres of errors.

Hi Michelle,

I just wanted to clarify that I didn't do an upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.3.1, but rather a new install on GoDaddy at 4.3.0, and then applied the upgrade to 4.3.1.

As for what I posted earlier about wondering if the install "took", I later found out that I needed to reapply the individual Announcement core module (downloaded it from the Announcement project area), and that fixed the HTML source code issue.

None of these GoDaddy sites are in a production environment as of yet, so I'm evaluating whether or not to go with these release candidates right off the bat and deal with the bugs or to use version 4.0.3.

I also want to emphasize what JetJam talks about in copying the web.config to the Config folder first. This is the real key. I tried it without it and ran into problems... but as long as you copy the web.config into the Config folder with the proper permissions, and then copy that out into the root folder, those permissions appear to stick with the file (seems to me like a glaring security error on GoDaddy's part... but since it works to our advantage, I'm cool with it ).

I used another FTP program from the built in IE version, (Core FTP located at http://www.coreftp.com ), however any well suited FTP program should support it for you to right click on a file, issue a Cut, and then go to the destination directory on the FTP server and issue a paste, and it issues the proper FTP commands to move it server side, therefore retaining the permissions.

Andre,

I have been trying to get the new Events Module to upload to GoDaddy. I have uninstalled and reinstalled DNN 4.3.1 and tried to install the Events Module new and old version, and all I see is RED! Have any idea? Have you tried to install the Events module?
