wow!

I used to be considered a pretty good programmer until this debacle--and after reading about 20 posts, I still am wondering whats the deal/w dnn.

1. I have developed a dnn app located here: "localhost/mjo"

2. Ok, all done, so now I want to upload it to here: "http://www.myjoboutlook.com/mjo"

Steps I took to upload to production:
A. Made http://www.myjoboutlook.com/mjo a virtual directory
B. Added the portal alias "myjoboutlook.com/mjo" in the "portalalias" table
C. Uploaded database
D. Stopped & started process, and I still get...............well, you take a look: http://www.myjoboutlook.com/mjo

Also, I have other customized aspx files in this project that render fine and require the web.config's connection string to access sql server--this all works fine.

I was saying pretty good things to my colleagues about dnn, but I didnt think I'd be spending a fri night trying to upload some working material....hopefully I missed something here. If anyone has ideas, feel free! Thanks!

Hi,

  • Do you have uploaded the dnn folder (and sub folders) pointed by localhost/mjo to your server?
  • Do you have updated access rights to the server folder where is dnn?
  • Do you have defined the default page to default.aspx inside the virtual directory setings?

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

If you go here: http://www.myjoboutlook.com/mjo/default.aspx

You get a message that looks like it did on my local machine when I failed to configure IIS. It's clearly permissions, but I dunno what to tell you to do. I'm new at this, too.

Hi,

I think that something is wrong is your IIS virtual directory settings, and may be in the folder where you have copyed the dnn files. Try this url: http://www.myjoboutlook.com/mjo/default.aspx
