hi all

I have common users between 2 portals and i deleted them from one portal

i don't know exactly why but the admin role is not listed in global roles and all roles drop down in the second portal.

how can i restore the Admin role? i created a role called Administrators but it proved to be a normal public role, no admin privileges.

i have Host access to the portal

plz help

ID of the AdministratorRole is stored in PortalSettings, make sure, it is set correctly (you might need to change it directly in database table).

i found the table portals, i changed the administrator role  and adminsitrator id to the role of the admin (from table roles) and the id of the admin (from table users)

and made sure the user in the appropriate role (table userroles)

it is still not giving me admin permission.

Also, please can you also tell me why there is a column administrator id (is this the host id???) in the portals table, isn't it redundant with the administrator role column which would englobe the administrator id (by lookup)?

restart application.

Admin user is needed to have a single user as sender of system mails, while the admin role can have mulitple members.

Thanks for your quick answer, leupold

i was able after windows restart to get the Administrator role displayed, and when i log in as an admin (member of that role), i am able to modify content, add pages, etc However the admin tab is missing.

i went to the tabs table, found it (by filtering portal id, and name admin) and its settings are all normal.

on a localhost, i have a dnn, i added a category called test and i assigned it to be the admin category on that portal.

when i logged in as admin (after restart), also in this case the admin tab is not showing.

thanks
