please describe your issue more in detail. If the site does not show up, it is an IIS / domain addressing issue, if there is an error about missing Database connection, the issue is on the SQL server side or the connection to it.

When I go to my site (www.cvhpa.org), it redirects to the IP address that I used to install the portal on. I configured the database connection using the IP address. My concern is now that the site is live, I would like to configure the site using the domain name on the portal. However, when I type in the domain name, it still redirects the site to the portal using the IP address. Is this a DDN configuration, or a DNS configuration? Is there a way I could change the DNN to my domain name instead of using the  IP address.

I also went to my portal host, and tried to add www.cvhpa.org to the portal allias, but that was not help. I get an error :(, but even if it was fixed, I dont think that is the problem.

Are there any alternatives?

Your name server needs to direct the site address to the web server, the web server needs to direct the site address to the web site that hosts DotNetNuke. DotNetNuke needs an additional portal alias for the same portal to answer requests for the address.

hmm... ok. I dont think you understand what I was trying to say, but I went ahead and fixed it. Heres how:

I knew it was in my web.config file because everything on my database should stay the same no matter what IP ADDRESS or DNS name it is coming from. Anyway, when I would go to a page on my site, if I put http://domainname/default.aspx it would automaticly redirect itself to http://000.000.00/default.aspx and the reason being was because when I first installed the DNN to my site, I used to IP address. My IP address was not connected to my DNS at the time, and I was waiting for it to expire.

So in my web config file,

   <add key="HostHeader" value=" " />

is changed to

   <add key="HostHeader" value="http://domain-name.com />

now when I type in mysite name, it WILL not redirect itself to the IP ADDRESS I used to install. The login to my superuser account >>Host >>Portals did not work...it wasnt solving my issues, but thanks for yall help anyway :)

Looks like you have it working.  Question... your site is very snappy fast... where is it hosted and what plan are you on?  Thanks in advance.

Actually, I am doing a work-study program at school. I work for a company who needed a website done, and they needed a template and help designing. So I am not sure what or where they got it from, or what plan they are using, but I believe its through verio-hosting.com
