I am trying to figure out how to move the search box to the top of the screen.  I am new at this and could really use some direction.   I have seen in other threads how to disable the site and web radio buttons.. GREAT INFO! on this..  but how do I physically move the location of he search box to the top of the screen..i assume its possible because I have seen other dotnetnuke site online that have the search box in a diffrent location..  ANY HELP WOULD BE HUGE!

The search box is a token that has been added to the Skin of the site you are using. This and a number of other tokens can be included or excluded from the skin applied to your site and can be moved to other locations on the page as you require.

There is no 'switch' for this setting as such, rather you would need to purhcase or design an alternative skin. Check out the Skinning guide on this site or in your download package to learn how to do skinning.

As Lorraine Young said, check the skinning guides. It is possible to edit the skin you are using and move the [SEARCH] token around. It will depend on the construction of the skin as to how easy it will be to put it where you want.

I don't use the search ability, so I just remove it, which is easy.
I have tried to shift some things in a skin, and moving things around can disrupt the look of the skin, so be sure to test it on a non-live site first. :)

Thank you for your reply.  I appreciate you time and advise...I have ton to learn and am having a blast.  I decided to remove to the search box.  Maybe you can help me with this.. I need to create my own navigation..in fact its rather simeple.. basically the first page of the site is going to have a logo and underneath that logo will have about 6 links...that will be the navigation.  once customers click a link, they will be taken to that page, at which point the naviagation will be on the left.  Is there anyway to 1. remove/hide the navigation- as i dont need it to be viewable by users.

2. What would be the best way to approach this?

Thanks for you help. I appreciate you quick response and sharing you time to answer my question.  Do you know how to hide or remove the navigation.  I will basically be having the home page stripped down so that I can put a logo centered in the page with navigation underneath it...literally simple links to click on..any ideas or suggestions on what to do or where to go..
