I would like to add a message center type module to my site.  I was thinking of something like what ebay has, except only site admin or restricted users can send messages to other users. I do not want to send emails, I want to have the user see messages when they login to the site.

there is a private messages module from ventrian.com, besides you can use newsletter module in admin menu
