make sure, the virtual user "network Service" or "ASPNET" (WinXP) has write permission for your web.config and the file is not read-only.

Hi,

additional to leupold:

You have to be sure that these accounts (leupold told) have "Write, Read and Delet permissions" to the main Folder, all subfolder and all Files there: For example "C:/DNN462". You can check it by rightclicking on this folder and there are the permissions which account is allowed to do anything in this folder.

I hope we could help you!

greetings Marc

as posted before, i added the 2 users to the security tab on the DotNetNuke folder and gave them full control. I went to the web.config file and saw it didnt inherit the settings from its parent. I added the 2 users to the web.config security tab. Now when i access http://<yoursite>/Install/Install.aspx i get a blank page, no more error. Anyone knows how to solve this?
