We are finding that when CuteEditor is set as the default editor for DNN, and any Membership Profile is created wiht a Rich Text Type, the text entered is not saved to the database. Nothing gest saved at all. We have also tested other non FCK editors and found problems.

I would like to be clear that this is an issue we can reporduce. Take for example the Biography profile that is a standard profile data for DNN member profile data.

Enter any text into that using cute. Nothing gets saved.

The real frustration comes when we try to work around this problem. The profile data page has the default editor hard coded. no option for the user to select basic text box like there is in the Text / HTML module.

We have attempted to use a module to custom replace the profile data editing page, but again, the rich text does not like us messing with the data entry editor there either.

We attempted to try and make the single line text box into a multi line text box. Again this is not an option for that in profile data.

It appears as thought there is no way to get cute editor / and rad editor to save any text at all to profile data with "Rich text" set as the data type.

This one is driving us nuts. Lots of hours burned and we are no closer to a solution.

Does anyone have any clue on this one?

rich text editor is integrated using texteditor.vb, which called the htmleditor provider; this is done with FCKEditor like previously used FreeTextBox or any 3rd party provider. If the text is not returned, either the editor does not pass it to the provider or the provider does not provide correct text to the interface. I am not aware of any issues in this area, there are a large number of users using 3rd party editory like Cute or Telerik. you might need to debug, what's going on.
