Hi Fresh one,

You can visit my website at nukedesigners.com and probably get some answers.

You can also visit my other website nukenotes.com and look for the category "xhtml". You will find there a list of articles and other resources explaining the benefits of table-less design.

Yes. it is more accurate to call it :CSS/xhtml.

Thanks.

To be honest I mostly try to stay out of tables vs div discussions.
This has been discussed a lot in other HTML / CSS forums and the outcome has been accepted by the vast majority of web developers:

"You should use tables for tabular data and divs for the rest"

IMO at least 95% of the skins can be done without tables.

But it can be more difficult (sometimes divs are easier btw) and you need more CSS knowledge.

Divs do tend to load faster (less HTML) and (if you float them) they are better at handling devices with small screens.
(a div can move down, a table cell stays in the row)

I try not to use any tables if I don't have to, but sometimes you cannot avoid using them.
One example is vertical aligning a fixed width & height skin in the browser, I never managed to do this without a table.

But I think they can be avoided more often then most people say.
