Rob,

I understand your frustration, but believe me, that the core team is trying hard to get issues addressed. We are aware of issues with the new forum - which had been completely rewritten and very intensively tested, but there are always issues, that only show up in real use. I know, that Chris is working on fixes for next version, but he is very busy in his job and we are grateful, that he spends a part of his spare time for this volunteer project. If any of you have questions regarding the Forums module, either here or on your own site, I suggest to use the Forums Project forum.

Besides, we try to address all questions and I apologize, if one or another post remains unanswered due to the large number of messages we get. Thank you for your understanding.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

And so the question comes full circle for Terp ;-)

You'd think that, for the sake of the community, DNN would want to use a robust, bombproof forum package so that the community could thrive... Dogfood is one thing, but there's nothing wrong with feeding 'em real meat, especially when that is to which their sophisticated palate's accustomed.

Are you suggesting that DNN run a commercial forum package, such as ActiveForums, sir?

I tried to respond to your post for the last two nights, but each time I clicked on the "Forum" icon up top, it redirected me to the DNN homepage, so I gave up...full circle. :)

Ever since they migrated to these "new" forums, I, too, have had serious problems with the DNN site

I have seen this as well. It's not just you guys. I actually noticed issues with this a week or so before the new forums was put in place. but thought well maybe it's me.   Another thing to note is that I have this issue on other pages besides the forums. For instance I usually hit the blog's before I look at the forums. 60% of the time I get these problems there first.

I don't know about the rest of you, but sometimes I only get the top banner, then the page/browser freeze. I wonder if maybe this is related to the banner code?
