Perhaps if enough people become tired of: 1) slow moderation; 2) broken-ness; 3) lack of thread email notifications and go to more other DNN forums, the DNN forum maintainers will notice???

I for one have already given up and am going to other forums because: 1) I cannot post any new threads, I can only 'reply'; 2) I cannot read the Announce It forum because it simply does not work for me; and 3) I actually do receive replies and email notifcations from other forums, without waiting forever for moderators.

Thank you, Tom

I took it to an even more extreme; I am now running PHPBB3 on a new site I am working on using another platform. I won't buy another DNN module from Snowcovered, thanks to the forum project.

I am going to ask Will about donating a couple of AF module serial numbers I bought but never used...perhaps we can have a contest (DNN forum related) and I'll put them up as booty.

...and let's all be honest here; given the complexity of the DNN platform and the amazing talent that occupies the core team and many of the supporting project teams, could one reasonably assume that someone in the Corp would possess the requisite skills to flip the switch to make this go away:

Since you posted to a moderated forum, a forum administrator must approve your post before it will become visible. Please be patient, this may take anywhere from a few minutes to many hours. Note that you will receive an email when your post is approved

It's been this way since day one and it speaks volumes, guys...

If [user]=registered and [user]=unmoderated, then [display stupid moderation message]=0
End if

I have no programming skills (obviously), which is why many like me needed the forums as a place to communicate with other newbies and address problems we have with the platform/modules, etc.

I remember a post from a Board member that asserted someone who was so very helpful around here "really sucked the air out of the room" when he wanted to address some of the shortcomings and make things better; that person was forced out of the project; someone who posted an honest opinion of the platform in one of my early Joomla threads was forced out of the project, though also so very helpful and added value to this place; perhaps the Board can find it in their hearts to suck the air out of the forum project and replace it with some fresh CO2.

Terp,

I'm sorry to see that the DNN Forum project has caused this strong of a reaction to others in the community.  I know that the DNN core forum is lacking in many many ways now, but honestly the DNN core items are only a small piece of the overall system.

Honestly I find myself moving more and more towards customized solutions on my own, thus why my free modules on my site are growing in numbers.

I personally still believe that DNN as a core framework is worth the investment, but careful consideration must be made with the modules....
