Will using FTP client to transfer files directly into the PortalRoot folder cause problems? I created a sub-folder in the PortalRoot using FTP and the DNN File Manager doesn't seem to recognize it, even after doing a refresh. Should this work or do all files need to be added through the File Manager?

you need to sunchronize file repository in the database after uploading files via ftp. either press the link in the upper right corner of the file manager, activate the scheduler job or or  enable auto-sync in host settings (will not create subfolders).

Thanks for the response. I did have auto-sync enabled, but the folder still did not appear. I don't think I tried the syncronize link on File Manager though. What do you mean by "will not create subfolders"? Can subfolders be created with FTP that will be recognized by DNN after syncronization? I'm using DNN 4.07.00.

Thanks,
Ed

subfolders are not created by autosync. use schedules or manual (recursive) sync instead.
