Can I create a "standalone" site with DNN and use it on non DNN environment?  Can I create a site and ftp push the files to a web server folder like, say...comcast.net?

Just pushing the DNN files by FTP to a web space will not be enough.   You would need to have an environment with the .net Framework, and a database that supports the application such as SQL for starters.    Placing the DNN files on the standard web space you get with Comcast will not work for you.

TMMWorld has it right.  Most ISP web hosting services only allow static HTML pages and not even ASP, much less ASP.Net.  And nearly none of them offer database support.

As far as I am aware there is NO way to save a DNN site as a "static" site once you have it built....it might be possible, but it would be VERY hard.

Doesn't PageBlaster do something like that?  (Only for cache though)
