Hello All,

I just changed a domain name associated with one of my dotnetnuke installs and I no longer can access the login page.  The URL for this site is http://www.lambertcustompools.com/dnn .  I have updated the PortalAlias table to this domain name and all seems well except for the fact that I do not know what is going on with the login.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Do you mean "no longer can access" as in when you click your Login link your girlfriend's dog pulls the plug out of the wall and your system shuts down?  If so, get a new girlfriend or lock the dog outside the room.  If not, describe what you really mean.

More importantly, did you clear your browser's cache so it redirects to the proper domain instead of remembering the old page URL?

Jeff

If you manually added the entry direclty to the portalalias table you will need to cause the application to restart for DNN to update the cache.

You can do this by adding a space to a non-critical section of your web.config.

*edit* - tested your site a few minutes ago and appears to be working now, knowing that when i initially followed your login link or added ctl/login to the URL -- the control did not appear

Not sure whatis causing this - but something to check is your portals table to see if you have a LoginTabId specified. If there is a value here (maybe the home page) you may want to remove it and see what effect that has.
