Hi,

Just want to check if there is anyway around this.

Say for example I have a page on the site that is only for registered users only (hence i set the permission settings accordingly)
So when a user clicks on this specific page, the login page comes us for them to login. Once they login, it takes/direct them to the homepage - instead of that particular page automatically.

Is this a limitation of DNN or is there a way around this?

Thanks.

Anh

I recall that this only happens if you have specified your own login or homepage in the site settings. If none is specified then it will return the user back to where they came from. You can see that working here on the DNN site.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the reply.
I believe i have done this. In the site settings | Advanced Setting | Splash page, home page, login page, user page - they are all <None Specified> Is this correct?  Is there anything else that I am missing here?
It hasn't worked for me :(

Thanking  you in advance!

Hi Anh,

Yep that's correct and it should therefore work. I should point out that this did not work in earlier versions of DNN. I don't recall when the change was made, but are you using a recent version... and when you arrive the login page from another page on the site, does the URL in the address bar have a returnurl added onto it?

Hi Rob,

Yes, we are using the latest version of DNN.
Yes, the login page has the return url in it, but once you hit the enter key, the page just directs it to just /HOME.aspx.
:(
Thanks Rob... if you can figure anything else that i can try, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Rob.

Anh
