thanks, I got it to work now, it wass the first page of the backend that was confusing me since it had the same layout as my frontend but then I just pressed site settings on the controlpanel and I got the ddefault skin again on the backend.

I'm still not really sure how I managed to upload my skin and to use it, but for now I know wich css file to edit for the frontend without messing around with the backend and thats all I need for now.

Thanks a lot everyone and I am sure there will be more noob questions in feb or so:)

now to the playground:)

Cheers,

Sebbe Gustin

DNNCreative Magazine at http://www.dnncreative.com/ has some spectacular tutorials for skinning.  I found it to be the absolute best in learning how to make a skin work.

*Agreed*

dnncreative has saved me countless hours.  I notice that I often get off track and stuck on some topic for hours, then I go watch the video as I should have to start with, and find the answer in minutes :->

Lee I think is the guy's name who runs that site, and he also has an awsome skinning guide made that deals with all the CSS elements/classes and has nice pictorials about how each item effects the output.  I cannot rave enough about how much this site has helped me(even though I still have yet to make a fully functional skin hehe).  He put alot of time into the videos though, they are really the highest production quality I've seen, and it's well worth whatever nominal fee he chooses.

Ok.  I"m ravnig to much. :-> just my honest, unsolicited review.
