Ah ok now I understand, the E-Mail Notification settings by Users for new Forum threads are missing.  This is by design, about this have a design change.

Yes.

Found that followed it.  My problem is not permissions. 

My problem is that users who had asked the forums to send them email (Forum Subscription) have lost the subscription.  The forum no lnoger sends them email.  If I run this query...

select

 

Users.UserName, Forum_Forums.

Name

From

 

Users, Forum_TrackedForums,

Forum_Forums

where

 

Forum_TrackedForums.UserId = Users.

UserId

And

 

Forum_Forums.ForumId = Forum_TrackedForums.

ForumId

And

 

Forum_Forums.GroupId = 4

Then it returns no rows!  It used to return many rows.

I would have liked to know about this before I upgraded the forum.  Before the upgrade I could have posted  a message to my Forums saying that the setting would be lost.  After the upgrade is too late.  I now do not know who has lost their notification.  Anyone who relies on the notification is lost.

Users will forgive you a lot.  Generally they do not forgive throwing away their data!

Perhaps this could be added to the FAQ post.  As a matter of urgency.  Here is some suggested text...

Q:  Why do the Forum Users no longer receive email notification of new posts?

A: The email notification settings are lost in the upgrade process.
