Hey everyone,

I've been trying to install the dotnetnuke on my development (local) machine and then connecting to a seperate SQL 2005 server within the same domain but am having all sorts of troubles.  I can get to the dotnetnuke page to enter the DB info in but the test connection always fails.  I've also changed the connection string in the web.config to the proper info (DB, Server, user id, password) for the SQL server but still no success. I've tried bo0th basic and integrated autentication.

Has anyone manage to connect to a seperate SQL server and can you gives some pointers on how to do this?

Thanks.

Enable remote connections, and allow sql database connections over tcp/ip you can configure it in the sql server configuration manager and sql surface area configuration. Could you show us your connectionstring (without uid/pwd ofc), the problem might lay there.

good luck :)
