@M O - If you choose to use edit your Text/HTML content with Word 2007, then you'll need to upgrade to version 1.1.7 of metaPost Community Edition.  If I have time to create a short video this weekend showing how to edit Text/HTML modules with Word 2007, I'll let you know here.

@workcontrol - I plan on eventually having providers available for as many of the content related modules as possible.  I've also designed the provider infrastructure so that it can be implemented by third party module developers just like you would implement a DNN interface like ISearchable.  I would love to work on the forum provider next, but I'm trying to guage what would be in the community's best interest (your feedback is of great value to us right now).  I'm also working hard on creating the Professional Edition.  It's due this next Tuesday evening (2/26/2008).

The main difference between the CE and PE editions will be the ability to control the contents of the footer added by default at the bottom of posts made by metaPost Community Edition.  In the first version of metaPost Professional Edition, the footer will be customizable by provider.  metaPost Community Edition will continue to be free and the Professional Edition will be released under a per/portal license. Additional features may also be added to metaPost Professional Edition which may not be included in the Community Edition.  More on some of these exciting features to come soon.  Instead of trying to differentiate between commercial and non-commercial use with metaPost Community Edition, we decided to release metaPost Community Edition with a small attribution image in the footer.  If this isn't acceptable, whatever your use of the product, then you're a good candidate for the Professional Edition.

@ROBAX - I haven't heard of any problems yet with running metaPost alongside any other DNN modules.  The only thing I've heard to date regarding possible incompatibility is with metaPost running in an environment where AD authentication is being used.

Robax,  I was just curious since you have both DigMeta and metaPost if you could provide a list of features for both products?  Both seem similar in function but since I am a candidate for the professional version of metaPost I would like to know which would suit my needs.

Thanks..

Don, first, thanks for your contribution to the DNN community. This is a very cool and useful module.

I'm getting a message saying, "The weblog account could not be accessed using the specified username and password." I'm assuming it is because the site I am trying to use this with has AD authentication enabled. (It's a company intranet site.) I get that message even when using a non-AD account which has its blog created.

Could you provide more information as you're aware on metaPost and AD authentication? If currently incompatible, would this scenario possibly be supported in the future? Is there anything that users (or developers) could do to work around the issue?

Thanks!

I'll need to get around to this, but I did notice from teh feature lists that they did treat some thigns differently. Digi's one did text/html modules as well, but that may now also be in metapost now too. I suggest having a read of the features pages for both.

Have you released the Pro version?   I showed my co-workers how to blog and update html module using your module and they were very impressed.

I tried the News Articles but it did not work.  I am using the News Articles version 0.5.53.  It complained about inadequate permission when setting up the account.  When pointing to your test News Articles link on your site, it worked fine.

Suggestion for the next provider:  DNN forum.  This will save a lot of time when posting screenhost/images in helpdesk or colaboration type forums.
