metaPost 1.1 Community Edition is available now from Snowcovered* for FREE.  And the next release is right around the corner with even more exciting features!

Highlights

  • New Ventrian News Articles provider with support for pages and for setting the Featured and Secure options for new articles.  Do you want a provider for your module listed here next month?  Let us know! 
  • View your posts or articles as they will appear in your site as you write the article or post.  Works with all current providers.
  • Extensive metaPost provider (plugin) infrastructure which bridges the gap between DotNetNuke and software such as Windows Live Writer.  Our provider infrastructure gives third party and custom module developers easy access to the full power of Windows Live Writer without having to become an expert on the intricacies of accessing the full set of Windows Live Writer features over XML-RPC.  We did that work for you.
  • Support for additional features such as Trackbacks and Pingbacks included in metaPost.  It's built into the metaPost infrastructure, so it's available to any provider that needs to use it.

Note to current metaPost users:  Upgrading is easy.  Just install the new version.  However, Windows Live Writer caches settings.  In Windows Live Writer, you'll need to go to Weblog | Edit Weblog Settings, click on Update Account Settings... , follow the steps to update your account and then close and re-open Windows Live Writer.

*metaPost Professional Edition will also be available in the DotNetNuke Marketplace as soon as it is released.  The Marketplace wouldn't accept a zero dollar product or the Community Edition would be listed there too.

Wow this is an amazing module. Together with Window Live Writer and SnagIT, blogging can be quick and fun. Best of all, it works with DNN Blog module.

Yeah, the combination of WLW with SnagIt is hard to beat and with the metaPost provider (plugin) infrastructure you'll be able to use this combination with any of the modules which ship with a metaPost provider.  We'll be releasing a provider for the Text/HTML module the first part of next week with the hope that people will begin to use Windows Live Writer for much more than just blogging.  Thanks for taking the time to check it out and for your response Fuji!

At the time you release the Text/HTML provider I will be on board.
Question,  are you leaving it up to the module developers to provide the module integration or is this something they submit to you and you then release the new version?  If a non-developer owns the source code to a module will you help with adding this integration?
