John,

as a former Core Team member you are for sure aware, that it is very difficult in DNN (like a number of other project based on volunteer efforts) to predict, which feature will be available in which DNN version and when it will be available. I for my own have a number of ideas and have myself committed for a number of tasks, that I have been unable to fulfil in time, due to work load, cause I still need to do some work for clients in my daily job to get satisfied my basic needs (though I might don't look like;-) ).

I can assure, that the core team is trying our best to create and deliver new DNN versions, that suit common requests and will improve the framework to a higher level.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Sebastian,

You may have taken my question with the wrong meaning.  I know you work hard to improve DNN. That was the reason I was asking since it looked like you were saying you were not involved with content localization and workflow when I remember you being very interested in improving those areas.

I guess you are saying you don't have time to work on it because of the other tasks that you have already committed to which is completely understandable.

In the interest of transparency, is there any more information you can give us about who is working on these areas, or if it is being worked on?

Curious minds want to know :)

Thanks for all your hard work, it is appreciated by many.

I would just be interested in a this is what we have planned for some future release type information. I know its very hard to predict what will make it in what release and I also know if you say and don't deliver then certain members of the community will get a little upset. If the core team is worried about putting it our for everyone how about a post in the Alumini forums so those of us who have given a lot of time to DNN in the past could be informed as to what may be happening. If tihs won't work, I'm sure someone has an email address for me.

Thanks

Bruce

In addition to Sebastian's comment, I would think it would be later in the year before modules start getting updated.  I'd hate to be a module developer and be working on a rewrite only to have the core change something that makes me start over.  Though I would think that the core team would put out a general road map, especially to core changes, to push the core module teams to have something ready within a timeframe.

Of course, that road map might not be suitable for public consumption, if just to avoid the "You said xyz would be ready in July and I bet my entire career on it..." posts.
