I am getting the following error:

An error has occurred.

Request for the permission of type \'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089\' failed.

This error occurs when trying to write to the site - for example, create a directory or upload a file. This is in DNN 4.8.2

How do I resolve this error?

Are you working with files in the website, or elsewhere on the machine?  Under Medium Trust, "FileIOPermission is restricted. This means you can only access files in your application's virtual directory hierarchy. Your application is granted Read, Write, Append, and PathDiscovery permissions for your application's virtual directory hierarchy." (from http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998341.aspx#paght000020_mediumtrustsummary)  You can check out How To: Use Code Access Security in ASP.NET 2.0 from Microsoft Patterns and Practices to see a table of what each trust level will get you.  It looks like you might need to change to High or Full trust if you're able.

Hope it helps,
