Hi,

Last week i had a problem with my portal, i couldn't log in anymore. So i tried to find a solution, but i didn't and i had to re-install dnn. So i asked my hostingprovider that they could reset my account and activate asp.net 2.0. So i got an empty webspace and a clean sql server db. I also asket for the rights for the aspdotnetuser.

I uploaded the 4.7 (because i'm installing an aspdotnetstorefront webshop on the portal). modified the web.config for the db strings and tried to go to my site to install it, but i get this error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

What could be the problem? I guess something with the hosting? But what specific?
Thx,

Thomas

I was having the same issue with 4.8.2. I was able to use the information from this thread http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/184150/scope/posts/Default.aspx and determine what was the root cause.

However, it ony partially fixed it. From what I was able to gather, you need to have all the config files located in the Config folder also in your root folder. It was the only way I could get it to work.

Hi,

The problem was like i thought a hosting problem. They forgot to clean the sql server.

Well, thx anyway!

Add this section in dotnetnuke.config file then the problem should be gone:

<

skinningdefaults

>

<

<

</

skininfo folder="/DNN-Blue/" default="Horizontal Menu - Fixed Width.ascx" admindefault="Horizontal Menu - Fixed Width.ascx" />containerinfo folder="/DNN-Blue/" default="Image Header - Color Background.ascx" admindefault="Image Header - Color Background.ascx" />skinningdefaults>
