Hi all! We run a website named www.chillifreeze.com and we want to revamp it a little bit. Basically the entire site now runs on DNN. We would like to introduce a few html pages and then integrate the forum into the html pages.

So here are my real basic questions:

1. Is that possible? Does anyone have any examples of sites that run html pages BUT have DNN components? Links? How do we do this?

2. If we change the website's domain name (We want to make it more professional) is it possible to move ALL the content in one step to the new domain? How do we do this? Do we lose search engine ranking then? How do we retain our rankings?

I am an absolute novice and I am not a techie!! I actually take care of the content part. The tech team works on the site. So tech language might be tough for me to understand. But I am really desperate to do this. So please help!!!

And also, if there are any developers out there, what would you charge for something like this?

1. If you're talking about basic HTML pages, no, it's not likely that you'll be able to move your ASP.NET apps to the HTML pages without some changes to the way IIS handles different content types.

2. Yes, you can move things and change the URLs and still keep your SEO intact, but there are specific things you will need to do. This is a large topic, so I'll leave it for someone else if they have the time to go into full details.

Why do you need HTML pages, you can create pages within DNN that can do anything HTML can do, and even more.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris. So let us say I don't need html pages. But I need a DNN expert to customize DNN the way I want it to look? Is this forum the best place to find developers to do this?

Right now, if you look at the Chillifreeze website, it looks amateurish, especially the menus on the inside pages. Need someone to jazz it up a bit and make it look more professional. Also would need someone to move it to another domain keeping the SEO intact. You said this is complex. So I might as well hire someone to do it.
