Not sure whether this is the right forum to ask these questions but we have a client who needs to know why DNN has two permanent cookies (PortalID, PortalRoles), their policy is to delete all the cookies on a daily basis. So what I am asking is what else does the cookies contain apart from the obvious (portal ID, Role of the user), is there any way of changing the expiry times of the cookies.
Also they do not want error details to be shown, is there a way of hiding the error information and displaying ‘an error has occurred’ only? When there is a viewstate error it displays a message that a viewstate error has occurred.

Thanks for you help in answering these questions.

please check out Cathal Conolly's latest blog post here on DotNetNuke.com, for details on the cookies.

For using custom Error codes, there are settings in web.config ("Show Custom Errors") and IIS web site configurration
