Hi,
I'm having a trouble with smtp configuration. I installed DNN on my webhosting, and I can't make it send mails correctly. When I try to recover a password (or the authentication email for new subscriptions) I get this error:
Mailbox name not allowed. The server response was: sorry, that domain isn't allowed to be relayed thru this MTA
There are a few wierd things about this. First when I test the SMTP configuration on the hosts config screen, the mail is sent succesfully. But when I try to recover passwords it will give me that error, except for accounts that are on my own domain. (someone@midomain.com works, someone@gmail.com fails.)
To put the icing over the cake, if I use this same account I configured in SMTP settings with www.mail2web.com the account works perfectly and I can send emails to any of the accounts I'm having trouble with.
I need to have the account creation as verified, or I will be hit into oblivion by spam bots, and I have tried everything (that includes googling the problem, obviously) to correct this problem with no-joy. I accept any suggestions on how to squash this bug.
Thank you very much.
