Sebastian,

No worries, the back up is there ready to go. My problem is to isolate the issue now in order to avoid it later with other upgrades, and I have quite a few to do.

I plan to moke up the whole thing on local machine in order to find the culprit. I will install 4.7 and then upgrade to 4.8.3 and see the diferences. I hope to pin point the problem that way.

Since the corrpted files are still a possibility, what do you say about the idea of rewriting the 4.8.3 files again (uploading on top the current files)? does it make sense to you?

By the way, what is "staging environment "? (English is not my mother tongue as you can figure out :) )

Yehuda,

it is save to unzip any files except web.config, though the risk of overwriting an existing file with a blank one will persist.

A staging environemnt is using an installation with a copy of the original site, to perform the upgrade (while modifications to orig. site are stopped), which get copied back after successfully testing the upgrades site

This is still a problem in 4.09.00.  Not all members of a role receiving the newsletter.  And if the same user is in multiple roles then they don't always get the newsletter sent to each role, but they will always get the newsletter for the same role/s that work (if that makes sense).  That is, if Fred is in Role A and Role B, he will always get newsletters sent to Role A and never get newsletters sent to Role B.

Has this problem been identified by the developers of this utility?  And if so, are there any plans to fix it?

if a newsletter is sent out to multiple roles, a user, who is member of multiple roles will only be included once in the recepient list, this is by design.
