I have the latest DNN installed on my laptop and working just fine. now I want to put a portal onto my IIS server. the server is 2003 R2. I get web config errors after manually setting up the site.

I'm trying to find out if I should install the dnn onto the IIS and create my portals there instead of uploading the pages. what's the correct way to handle this?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by uploading the pages? If you're just trying to move from your laptop to the web server you can backup/restore the filesystem and the database on the server. Configure IIS in the normal manner to have application rights to the DNN folder.

OK...got the pages over to the server now it's defaulting to localhost/dotnetnuke.

so when I type company.net it reverts back to local host
