I cannot think of a way of removing it from one without removing it from another.

However, while a very creative person may follow-up with a little-known feature in the LINKS skin object, you can do some trickery by injecting that page using a 3rd party module or HTTPModule such as PageBlaster.  If you expect to only need this single instance of injecting content where it normally cannot be injected, write your own HTTPModule and rewrite the response.

Thanks Rob for offering to help. Basically it has to do with DNN:Links tab. I am thinking that the modification needs to be made in the Links.ascx.vb which is in /admin/skins folder. I am a beginner to the dot net world and am really not sure as to how to make the code modifications for this. Also I am working with DNN 4.8.3 and if you need the code for Links.ascx.vb, I will be more than happy to mail you.

Thanks again,

rt

Okay...I think I'm confused. Are we talking about the Links module? Or a completely different skin than DNN-Blue, for example, or simply an addition to the .ascx file for the skin?

It sounds like you're talking about default DNN, which I'm running 4.8.2 and 4.8.3, but I'm not familiar with the concept that you're talking about, or I'm misunderstanding.

Thanks,

Rob

Rob:  We are talking about the LINKS skin object, not the Links Module or a skin.  The LINKS skin object displays a list of links in correlation to the settings you specify.  For instance, look at the list of horizontal links below the menu strip here.

RT: I wouldn't suggest modifying the existing LINKS skin object.  It would be a little more work, but a better idea to create your own skin object to do what you want.  Creating a skin object is just like creating a module, only the manifest file is a little different.  See my post about the manifest file difference here:
