Hello,

I am new to DNN and have been searching for the answer to this but got to page 9 of my search and have given up. I finally (after hours) installed 4.X (newest version). I am now trying to logon and register but I get stuck on the default screen.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?!

Thanks,

Maria

I am going to assume you got logged into the site and started playing around with the "Site Settings" page? If so, you probably changed the "Login" and "User" pages, they were drop down lists.

You'll need to get into the database, into the Portals table, there are columns for LoginTabId and UserTabId, remove the values there, then restart your website (app pool) you should be able to login after this.

No, I never logged on. I had problems installing. Everytime I got to a certain point it would loop me back to the beginning of the install. I had to go into the web.config file and change a value in the install settings to false so I could force it to install. Then I got to the page where the link is to get to the home page but it kept loading in a loop so I had to set the trusts to high. That fixed the problem. Now I am at the homepage and I try to register or login. It looks like something is happening but it stays on the home page.

I noticed during the install that it said that no portals were installed. Does that have something to do with it or is that normal?
