Hi all, I'm having a very weird install issue.  This is a brand new install I had the 4.08.02 installed first then upgraded to 4.08.04.  This installation of 4.08.02 went fine.  The check permission checked out ok.  This point I just have a shell with all of the default settings.  I when I go to Host Setting and click update I get:

"Sys.Webforms.PageRequestmanagerTimeoutException: The server request timed out"

I also received this error when I try to install any of the core modules, the modules seems to be available after the error.

Is this a permission related issue or is something else going on with this?

Thanks,
Sean

I'm pretty sure this has something to do with AJAX. I've seen this error a few times myself.

You're right. In Default.aspx there is a line like this: AJAX.AddScriptManager which adds an ajax ScriptManager to pages this object has a property called "AsynchPostBackTimeout" which it's defaults to 90 secounds. I should add to that you may have a slow server.

You can change it via a call to AJAX.SetProperty. but I have never seen it work :)

Strange problem.... I've seen this also on custom web apps i have built, and tried setting the timeout longer but it doesnt appear to be related. Most of the time the error will come  up immediately.

Maybe it times out once then doesnt retry? I dunno.
