Good afternoon all, I have a tough one here. I'm going to try and make this as simple and short as possible.

Here is what I want to do. I have a touchscreen Windows CE panel that I'm going to mount on the wall at my fire station. I also have a DNN website for the department (DNN 4.5 ASP 2.0). I want to be able to allow my department members to do either of the following;

1) Log on to the website, and add themselves to a duty crew (The crew consist of a driver, officer and up to 4 firefighters). The idea is that home responders can login, see an open seat (thought of using a birds-eye-view of truck with seat locations), add their name to it and log out.

2) If they are at the station, they would be able to click on the screen, click the seat they want to sit in, select their name and signout.

In either way, via the screen or the web, each would update the other. I have no idea where to start with this project, but wanted to start here where most of you are of a higher intellect...

Thank you all in advance for your thoughts and suggestions on this "project" or maybe it's just a far off dream.....

Hi

You could do a drag and drop flash based page. Those are pretty simple. I work in close proximity to our fire department and they just use a magnetic name board though because its easier to take with them in situations involving several engines or mutual aid where its otherwise hard to keep track on scene. If you figure something out though that really makes things easier I'd be really interested to know as our department is pretty invested in the dnn platform and they are proactive about using it to improve their process.

Mike,

You should be able to just do it the normal way, as I'm guessing that the touch panel will bring up a keyboard for input.

I am not sure what module or anything you would use, as you would need to custom build that part, but I can't imagine that it would be that difficult.

I have invested a great amount of time tonight and I'm making some head-way. I think I might need to market this....lol I will keep working at this, but please keep my email address and drop me a line down the road if you don't hear from me in case I forget with everything going on. I would be willing to share this/any info on this project. President@TrialByFireDesigns.com
