I fixed this -- it had something to do with a new iFinity FriendlyUrl provider that I had installed before running the upgrade.

I did a 4.9 upgrade without the new provider file and the upgrade proceeded properly.

I will try out the iFinity item again soon and see what happens.

Thank you, Tom

I am also using the URL rewrite tool from Bruce at iFinity.

Did you just take the reference out of the web.config or did you uninstall the module?

I am still at a loss as to how my site got upgraded overnight.

About half the time I hit a page I get the page and about half the time I get the Under Construction page. But my site says it is at DNN 4.9

I am thinking of just rolling back to my pre-upgrade backup and try again. So what did you do to take out the iFinity stuff? Just remove it from the web.config?

I have asked Bruce to look at this and provide his opinion.

Hi Guys

Yes I recommend reverting your site to the standard DNN provider before commencing with an upgrade.  This applies to both the iFinity Friendly Url Provider and to the Url Master module.  You can safely re-apply the changes after you have finished the upgrade, both modules have been tested with 4.9

Cliff, in your case you will find that sometimes the site will flip around when running an upgrade, from the 'under construction' to the other mode.  You can go back to your backup to be sure, or, change your web.config back to the standard DNN Friendly Url Provider / Url Rewriter and try again with the install Url.

I will update the documentation on both these products to make it more visible that this is the steps you should take.

regards

Bruce

My solution was that I had an 'old' FriendlyUrl *.dll etc. set up plus various web.config entries.

I left these alone and the 4.9 upgrade proceeded smoothly.

THEN I did the new 4.7 version iFinity FriendlyUrl upgrade and it worked.

Basically always do your DNN upgrades, make sure they work, THEN do an ifinity FriendlyUrl upgrade.

HTH Tom
