I had insecure document links within my application (i.e. links pointing directly to a file system. People can directly open/save document without logging in). So i changed them to secure by including a "Links" module and then changing each link to this format - www.test.com/linkclick.aspx?fileticket=xxx&mid=10. Everything works fine. However I recently found that if a user does a search within the application, the search does not pull up the results with the secure links. Instead only the old documents which were pointing to the old insecure link shows up in the results pane. I am using the default DNN search module. Any ideas/thoughts as to how to restrict those insecure old document links from showing up and to just display the secure links. Currently, using the DNN search module, not even 1 secure link (of this format www.test.com/linkclick.aspx...) shows up in the result. How do i display these secure links? Or is this a bug in Dotnetnuke?

sounds like the search indexer has the old reference - try logging in as host and going to host->search admin and clicking "re-index content"

That was the first thing i did...however that did not work. I was wondering if I need to modify some setting when i add a documentation link? Or once i add a documentation link, do i need to edit that link and make it as a URL (instead of a file) for it to show in the results pane? Has anyone managed to display a secure link in their search results? Thanks in advance!

you may follow these instructions to delete search tables and reindex subsequently.

Still no luck....btw, what does this "Open-SearchEngine Admin" under host drop down list mean? I am guessing if that (Open-SearchEngine Admin) has something to do with this secure link not being displayed.Open-SearchEngine Admin has a tab called "Duplicates" and there was a regular expression to filter out "linkclick.aspx". Does anyone have any idea about Open-SearchEngine Admin in DNN? Thanks in advance
