I have upgraded to 4.9 (day of) and noticed a trend that *may* be new (pretty sure).  Our scheduled processes seem to be firing off as many as 4-5 times at once so when reminders are being sent, for example, 4-5 of them get sent out.  I can verify this in the schedule history that several instances fire off at exactly the same time (almost certainly different people whose requests get piggybacked).  This is happening on custom scheduler items as well as built-in DNN core processes.

I have the custom scheduler items set to run only every 10 minutes, with no "retry" (it is empty).  Core ones are set to every hour or day, depending on which one.

Any ideas how to prevent it from firing those scheduler events so often (besides disabling them)?

I see this "multiplication of scheduled tasks" problem since DNN 3.x (I mean, since the first implementation of the scheduler)..

The only (bad) work around I've found is manually delete the duplicates from the ScheduleHistory table (look for many entries with future 'nextstart' for the same scheduleid..

Until the next 'duplcation set' will work. The duplication often happens on each "application start".

This might be helpful if I could access the post but when I click the link it tells me to bugger off (not logged in or insufficient security).  Does your post offer information to resolve the issue?  If so, can you put that information somewhere that doesn't require elevated security rights?

Thanks.

It's in the Sponsored forum (I'm trying to get some core team attention) - there's no answer as of yet (I just summarised the threads that list Scheduler/Online issues in hope it will jar someone's memory as to what changed. I'll update this if I hear anything.
