Hi,

is it possible to search for a string in PDF documents? Being a newbie I'm still confused about the possibilities of DNN.

Thanks and regards,

Walter

Hello Walter,
Unfortunately, I don't believe that is possible at this point in time.

At this time the DotNetNuke documents module does not provide this functionality, it has been requested, but at this time it is not on the roadmap for inclusion.

I believe there are third party modules out there that will do this, but I would have to do some checking to find out for sure, I highly recommend looking out on SnowCovered.

have a look at QickSearch from www.apollo-softwrae.nl, it uses index server to integrate document content into portal search easily.

Not easy to do. It requires branching into the server's own indexing capabilities. I use this in the Document Exchange to index the content of documents.
