Hi,

I have recently upgraded a few of my websites to DNN 4.9.0 but am having problems with one install where the FCK Editor does not work at all. All I get is white space where the editor should be and a bunch of JavaScript errors on the page which are below:

FCKConfig is not defined
FCKBrowserInfo is not defined
FCKLang is not defined
FCKTools is not defined
FCKConfig_LoadPageConfig is not defined
InitializeAPI is not defined

I have tried this in IE7 and Firefox 3 and the errors happen in both. I searched the forums and have seen similar posts which were fixed by an application restart or clearing the browser cache but I have tried both of these solutions and still get the JavaScript errors and no editor displayed.

Has anyone had similar issues and been able to solve it?

Also, I need to solve this ASAP for a client so I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to go back to FCK 1.0.9 as it was working on this install with DNN 4.8.4 before the upgrade?

Thanks

You might try copying the DLLs for 4.9.0 back into the bin folder, as well as any of the necessary FCK files in the provider folder, perhaps something got corrupted when you initially deployed the upgrade?

Hi Chris thanks for your help. I already tried copying DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider.dll back over and the entire FCK folder as well. I then tried copying the entire Bin directory over again as suggested but it has not made any difference.

What is weird is that FCK Editor works perfectly on this install when using my dev machine (Vista and IIS 7) but not on my VPS (2003 Server and IIS 6).

Any other ideas what I could try???

This install, meaning when you hit it from a different machine it works, or when it is running on another machine it works?

please verify the fckprovider configuration section in your web.config is identical to the one in release.config file.
