Not sure what to search to find my answer but the forum on my site got messed up. The stats and post count and stuff got messed up and parts of the module arent expanding fully. Seems like some kind of text replacement is no longer working? Any ideas how to fix it? You can see it here:

I get the following error in the log which started about the same time this happened:

 

Core Localization File Not Found: : /DesktopModules/Forum/App_LocalResources/.ascx.resx

Looks like someone was messing around with files.  Did you delete any directories lately?

I figured it out. Not sure if it is a bug or just not intuitive. When I changed the page cache on the page with the forum module from 0 to 1 is when it started happening I guess. I changed it back to 0 and everything started to work!
