Hi Dylan,

I'm not aware if there are more than one available version of WLW, but my version shows four different options for comments when creating a new entry:

  1. Predefined
  2. None
  3. Closed
  4. Open

If your blog is set to deny all comments (both from users and anonymous users), then you should add your entries suing the Closed setting. If you use one of the other settings, the entry will override the online settings and allow comments to users.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

DNN Bloggers,

Just wanted to drop a note about a blog posting showing the simple steps required to configure WLW for DNN.

http://walkspoiled.com/Home/tabid/70/EntryId/131/Setting-Up-Windows-Live-Writer-for-DNNs-Blog.aspx

While making the post I noticed that images with spaces in the file name do not work when posting, I'll check the code when I get a chance.

Hi Dylan,

in order to forbid any comment (both to anonymous and registered users) you should uncheck the Allow users to post comments and Allow anonymous users to post comments checkboxes in Blog settings. When adding the entry using WLW you also have to set comments as Closed. Let me know if it works on your environment.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
