Mamlin,
Thanks for the reply. I have enabled my registered users group  edit privileges. No one can see the "add events" link. Any idea's why?

Ken

Ken-
Just as a test, try giving the group page edit rights (in addition to the EVENTS module edit rights) for the page your EVENTS module is on.

A Note of Caution:
If you give EDIT rights to the EVENTS module you're also giving rights to DELETE events (as well as the module itself).  For events with "Registration Enabled", if an editor DELETES an event that users have already registered for, you will permanently lose all user registration info for that event (data in the EVENTSSIGNUPS table).  Be careful of who you extend EDIT rights to for the EVENTS module...

Just a point on this one. Giving someone edit right to the module, should not give them the right to delete the module, only page editors can do that. A module editor can add, update and delete their own events, a moderator can add, update and delete all events.

Cheers
Roger

In admin/site settings/advanced settings/usability settings, change Control Panel Security to Module Editors, then check that users are set to Edit instead of View at top right of the page. I think you also need to set Control Panel Mode to Edit in the same place as the default for new users. When your users have changed their mode, you can change the security back to Page Editors.

The good news is that in 4.1.0, we have moved the Add Event (and the other view changing buttons) inside the module, so they should no longer be effected by this problem.

Cheers
Roger

I did the steps indicated above and my user role group still cannot add or edit calendar events.  The view and edit control panel modes do appear at the top of the page.  But the event editing does not.  Any suggesstions?

Thanks

Hi Dan,

That should do it. I don't have other suggestions, other than to ensure you have given users edit permissions to the module. What version of teh module are you using?
