Nina,

Again... you have the goods. What a shame you are not a core team member any more. Every time we see time consuming problmes with accurate answers, you have the goods.

Keep up the good work!

I'm looking for a best of both worlds solution.  I need the web garden due to busy processes caused by heavy traffic. Is there a way to invalidate the cache using the file update model?  This is suppose to work with Web Gardens.  The down side is a bottle neck can be created when a file is locked by SQL Server and other processes have to wait for the release.   This wouldn't be a big problem in my case since not many of the users update the dnn portal.  I just need to have some means for a Worker Process to know it has an old version so the users don't get the annoying sometimes you see the changes sometimes you don't problems we currently have.

Has anyone done this yet for DNN?  If so please share

Thanks,

Scott

I found the answer to my own question and it was so easy!

Simply follow the instructions for enabling the web farm for dnn and it includes file based cache invalidation which works great with web gardens as well.  Problem solved from what I see!  Thanks DNN team for the great work :)

Great! have been fighting with this issue for some time aswell. Tried 1 worker process once but my IIS crashed, set back to default (2) and didn't try again untill now. This time no probs, and the issue seems solved. Thanks!
